The fourth edition of the Africa Food Show Kenya which has being launched today is set to bring together key players across Africa’s food and agriculture sector as stakeholders seek practical solutions to transform agrifood systems and improve access to safe, nutritious and affordable food.
The three-day event will be held from today August 20 to 22, 2026, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi under the theme, “Transforming Agrifood Systems for Healthy Diets: From Seed to Plate.”
The business-to-business exhibition will bring together producers, processors, traders, investors, policymakers, researchers, innovators, development partners and private-sector leaders from Kenya, across Africa and beyond.
The event is designed to connect the entire food value chain, from production and processing to distribution and consumption. It will combine exhibitions, conference discussions, demonstrations and networking opportunities aimed at helping participants identify new markets, develop partnerships and explore solutions for more resilient and inclusive food systems.
The conference agenda will focus on several issues considered critical to the future of Africa’s food systems. These include coordinated governance and policy across the food value chain, the use of science and technology to improve productivity and market access, sustainable financing for farmers and small businesses, food safety and quality standards, and community-led approaches to nutrition and livelihoods.
The programme will also examine ways of expanding economic opportunities for young people, women and local enterprises while promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.
The show is expected to host more than 150 exhibitors and over 400 products, with participants drawn from 12 countries, creating a regional marketplace for business, investment and knowledge exchange.
Speaking during the launch of the show the regional programme manager for the East and Southern Africa Moses Abukari said that financing food systems requires a coordinated approach involving governments, development partners and private sector.
The exhibition will feature three interconnected trade platforms. The Africa Food Show will showcase ingredients, speciality foods, processing, beverages, packaging, logistics, food safety and hospitality-related products. Agro Africa will focus on agricultural machinery, cultivation, storage, testing and automation, while FoodPack Africa will highlight packaging machinery, materials, printing, labelling and logistics technologies.
For businesses, the event is expected to provide opportunities for market intelligence, product discovery, distribution partnerships and investment connections. For policymakers, it will offer a platform for discussions on food safety, healthy diets, resilience, technology and trade.
A major attraction will be the Mezani Culinary Showcase, which will bring Kenya’s culinary heritage to the exhibition floor through live cooking demonstrations, chef challenges, tasting sessions and innovation showcases.
The showcase will seek to link traditional recipes and culinary heritage with contemporary conversations around nutrition, enterprise, ingredients and food innovation.
With agriculture and food systems facing growing pressure to deliver nutritious food while supporting livelihoods and economic growth, the Africa Food Show Kenya 2026 is positioning itself as a platform where government, business, science and communities can move beyond dialogue towards practical solutions.
The event is being co-located with The Hotel Expo Kenya at KICC, further expanding opportunities for businesses and professionals within the wider hospitality and food industry.
The three-day gathering will provide a platform for policy discussions, enterprise opportunities, technology demonstrations and investment conversations, with the overall objective of strengthening Africa’s food systems “from seed to plate.”
