The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has congratulated Democratic Congress Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Kamau following his victory in the Ol Kalou Constituency parliamentary by-election, where he was declared the Member of Parliament-Elect.

In a message issued after the announcement of the official results, the ruling party acknowledged the decision made by the people of Ol Kalou, describing the election as a demonstration of democracy in action. UDA commended the residents of the constituency for turning out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional right to vote peacefully.

The party extended its congratulations to Kamau, wishing him success as he prepares to represent the people of Ol Kalou in the National Assembly. UDA emphasized that leadership is a responsibility entrusted by the electorate and called on the MP-Elect to work diligently to address the needs and aspirations of all constituents, regardless of their political affiliation.

UDA also thanked its supporters, campaign teams, and leaders who participated throughout the by-election period. The party noted that while elections naturally produce winners and losers, the ultimate victory belongs to democracy when the process is conducted peacefully and transparently.

The by-election attracted significant political attention, with major parties intensifying campaigns in the constituency ahead of polling day. Security agencies maintained a strong presence to ensure peace and order, while the electoral process was largely conducted without major incidents.

Sammy Douglas Kamau is expected to be sworn in as the Member of Parliament once the electoral process is formally concluded in accordance with the law. His victory marks the beginning of a new chapter for Ol Kalou Constituency, with constituents looking forward to effective representation in Parliament.

The UDA party reaffirmed its commitment to serving all Kenyans equally, respecting democratic outcomes and encouraged all elected leaders to place the interests of Kenyans above political differences as they work toward national development and improved service delivery.

Ends.
